No. There’s a difference between art and self-indulgent fetishistic exhibitionism, and it’s unlikely that you and I could even have a coherent conversation about the weather with people who are too far gone to understand why there is a difference. The saddest part is that in all probability, the poor little girl sincerely believes she’s righteously rattling our consumerist middle-class monkey cages. I actually feel embarassed for her.
Update: It’s a hoax, but I still feel embarassed for her. And it’s still not art. Hoaxes have been around for a long time. If they were art, we wouldn’t still be calling them hoaxes.
