Economists Urge Ottawa to Adopt National Carbon Tax

B.C. Introduces Carbon Tax

To paraphrase Glenn Reynolds, I’ll start worrying about global warming when the people telling me it’s a crisis start acting like it’s a crisis and not just another cheap excuse to transfer taxpayers money into the pockets of their pet lobbyists. Or when Bono retires his fleet of private aircraft. Whichever comes first. Until then, slapping new taxes on people in the middle of a severe global economic crisis  and worsening food shortage isn’t the way to win friends and influence people – more like a good way to get yourself and your government lynched by an angry mob.

How Battlestar Galactica Will End (Probably)

Baltar died in the attack on the Colonies. No one survived. The entire series is a nightmare taking place in Baltar’s soul as he is ferried to Hell (Earth) and where he will spend eternity being tormented by Satan (Six) The end.

Oh to Hell with It

This is ridiculous. I spend at least two to three hours a day using the internet professionally for research and resource-harvesting. Part of my job involves staying up to speed on science and culture. What am I supposed to do, go to BBC and read about the latest extrasolar planet discovery and NOT read about the Olympic torch debacle? No one has that kind of self-discipline, and it’s silly to think that I’d even need it.
